ElectricFlow builtin database failing to start in VM

Trying to stand up ElectricFlow v8.0.3 on a VM so we can do some validation. For some reason the builtin database fails to start. The commander.log shows that the database.properties is never created. Is there an issue on this particular installer? The error is:

Couldn't load database properties from URL [file:/opt/electriccloud/electiccommander/conf/database.properties]: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/electriccloud/electriccommander/conf/database.properties (No such file or directory)"

Is there a template to create this file?

Problem was that localhost was not listed in the /etc/hosts file. Webserver did not start and it did not create the default database (builtin). Once I added localhost, it got thru the installation and started everything...

yes, it should be created either from the UI at start or with "ectool setDatabaseConfiguration"

You can also use the menu under Administration/Database Configuration if you want to change DB on a running instance alt text

If that doesn't work, let's check the integrity of the installer itself--I once saw a similar error from a corrupted installer. Please run md5sum against the installer to make sure it's good:

 $ md5sum ElectricFlow-8.0.3.125753
 f2ea308852e61acbb751c0710f8f0ac8 *ElectricFlow-8.0.3.125753

This agrees with the contents of ElectricFlow-8.0.3.125753.md5 on ShareFile.

what does the startup script returns if you query it for status as in

sudo /etc/init.d/commanderXXXXX status

Sorry I don't know the exact name of the script for the builtin DB (I use an external one)
