Reasons why agent can fail impersonation for some user accounts?

One of our credentials is not able to run any procedures because the job always aborts with agent failed impersonation error. We have verified that the credential represents a valid user account. How do we get more details about the exact reason for impersonation failure?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ziddarth, can you confirm the version of EC and your OS?

I presume this is windows and maybe a recent version of EC.

Also, and to be clear: does a test of a short step with something like "dir" or "ls" work without impersonation, but fail when you run the same step using impersonation?

Yes, when i don't set the credential for the procedure it runs fine. When I select one particular credential I see the failed impersonation error. Note: This error is seen only for one of the credentials. Other credentials work fine. We are not able to determine what is wrong with the failing credential.

If it works for some but not for other may guess is you do not have permission at the OS level to change to that particular user from the agent user.
