ElectricCommander error on doing a p4 sync when specifying the changelist number

I am getting following error when I try to sync using a changelist number:

 Status: exit code 255
Error from log: Not a HASH reference at
Storing parameter "changelist" with value "768771".
 /opt/electriccloud/electriccommander/perl/lib/site_perl/5.8.8/ElectricCommander.pm line 2002.

I am using procedure "CheckoutCode" from Project "ECSCM-Perforce-" to sync from Perforce. I have the following parameters defined when using "CheckoutCode" as a sub-procedure in my step:

  • Source Type: Branch

  • Sync Type: Standard Sync

  • Changelist:

  • Forced Sync: checked

Please suggest how to resolve this error? Or is this a known bug in EC?

This looks like a known bug recently encountered by another user; we have the fix but it is not yet released to the plugin catalog. Please contact EC support and we'll get you a patched version of the plugin.

FYI -- in case you don't already have an account with EC support, please email support@electric-cloud.com.

Thanks Tanay for your response. We'll contact EC support for this new patch release for EC's Perforce plugin

The fix is now published to the plugins catalog and available for upgrade from within the Commander web UI. Click on Administration / Plugins / View Catalog. You'll see an entry for ECSCM-Perforce in that list; click Upgrade to install it.

Thanks Tanay. The new ECSCM-Perforce plugin that included the fix for this issue is not backward compatible and breaks all builds that rely on it. Our EC admin (Darrell Cabral) has sent an email to customer support to request a patch fix for the current plugin version or to fix the latest plugin version so that it is backwards compatible.

I uploaded a fix to the catalog last night, that version should work!
